BACKGROUND:
The aims of this Project is to prepare integrated management plans for three protected areas in Syria in addition to developing Ecotourism setup and strengthening human resources and enhance data and information flows for the following three PAs:
1. Al Fronloq
2. Jebel Abdul Aziz
3. Abou-Qbies
MANDATE:

Review all project related documents and the existingmanagement experiences;

Review the already achieved reports of the three PAs and prepare a detailed report on the needed and missing baseline surveys that must be accomplished in order to prepare the PAs management indicators and plans;

Overview the implementation of the missing baseline surveys and mainstream it to the benefit of the PAs management indicators and plans;

Assist the PMU and the three Protected Areas (PAs)staff in preparing the zoning plan of each of the three PAs according to the outcomes of the baseline surveys;

Prepare Protected Areas Management Plans for the three PAs according to the outcomes of the baseline surveys;

Undertake programmes to develop and strengthen demonstration sites human capacities towards more effective management;

Prepare Ecotourism and Business development schemes of the three PAs.
